PLOT: Fate of The Furious

PLOT

Love birds, Dominic Toretto and Letty Ortiz are enjoying their honeymoon in Havana, when Dom is called up by Fernando, who challenges him to a street race. Dom is in the race for Fernando's car, which he intends to give to his cousin, while betting his own car.
He wins the race narrowly and in an act of class allows Fernando to keep his car, while Fernando gestures his appreciation and instead leaves his cousin with his own car. The next day, Dom is approached the next day by cyber-terrorist, Cipher. She forces him to agree to work for her.

After the episode with Cipher, DSS agent Luke Hobbs enlists Dom and the quartet of Letty, Roman Pearce, Tej Parker and Ramsey to help him retrieve an EMP device from a military section in Berlin. During the breakout, Dom betrays the team, forcing Hobbs to veer off the road, in the process steals the device for Cipher. Dom's treachery ensures Hobbs is convicted in the same prison he imprisoned Deckard Shaw. They(Shaw and Hobbs) both plot and escape. Afterwards, Intelligence operative Frank Petty and his sidekick Eric Reisner enlist both Hobbs and Shaw to assist in locating Dom and eventually Cipher.

Shortly before tracking Dom and Cipher, Deckard opens up to Hobbs about Cipher's role in previous encounters with the team, he mentions when his brother Owen was employed to steal the Nightshade device and also masterminding the unsuccessful theft of God's Eye, a software program designed by Ramsey. The team eventually zero-in on Dom and Cipher just as they attack the base and steal God's Eye. Dom questions Cipher's motives and she reveals that she has held DSS agent Elena Neves(Dom's ex-lover), and their son, whose existence Dom was previously unaware of captive. Dom is told by Elena that the child was born as a result of an unintended pregnancy, and that she wants him to decide the child's first name, as she's already given him a middle name, Marcos.  Afterwards Dom is dispatched to New York City by Cipher, where he is to meet the Russian minister of defence and retrieve a nuclear football. Dom arrives New York City and temporarily evades her for a short time via a diversion caused by Fernando. This allows him to seek and plead with Magdalene Shaw ,Deckard and Owen's mother, to help.

Dom is intercepted after he steals the nuclear football, but he beats the trap, shooting and seemingly killing Deckard in the process. His escape is eased by Cipher who hacks into all the autonomous cars in the city and reprogramming them to auto-drive, ultimately causing destruction throughout the city. Letty approaches Dom, but is attacked and nearly killed by Connor Rhodes, Cipher's henchman but Dom rescues her. In retaliation, Cipher has Rhodes kill Elena. Dom goes to Russia on the orders of Cipher, he is to use the EMP device to disable a nuclear submarine therefore enabling Cipher to hijack it and consequently use its arsenal to trigger a nuclear war.  Petty and his team once again intercepts them and provides them with modified vehicles.

Elsewhere, Deckard, who had made up his death and was evacuated by some former members of Don's team, Tego Leo and Rico Santos, penetrates Cipher's plane to rescue Dom's son on Magdalene's request, with the help of Owen. As Deckard reports that the child is safe, Dom murders Rhodes, in retaliation for the murder of Elena, before rejoining his team. A livid Cipher launches a missile at Dom, but he evades it, causing the missile to hit the submarine instead. The team quickly form a shield with their vehicles around Dom, subsequently protecting him from the ensuing explosion. Cipher makes her escape from the plane via a parachute as she notices Deckard has closed in on her.

Petty and Reisner visit Dom and  his crew in New York City, to report that Cipher is still at large. Hobbs declines his DSS job back in order to spend more time with his daughter. Dom's son is returned by Deckard, in the process mending fences with Dom and Hobbs. He is accepted into their family as  Dom decides to name his son Brian, after his friend and brother-in-law, Brian O'connor. They cheer up.....End.
