Born on the 2nd of May, 1972 and Popularly called The Rock, Dwayne Johnson is an American Professional wrestler and Actor who has Canadian roots courtesy his father(Rocky Johnson) and Samoan roots through his mother(Ata Johnson). He is from a family historically steeped in the arts of wrestling as his father and maternal grand-parents achieved prominence in the art. He has a Bachelor of General Studies degree in criminology and physiology.

It runs in the family

Following in the footsteps of his families history, The Rock, who is a cousin to Yokozuna of World Wrestling Federation(WWF) fame, began training for a career in professional wrestling in 1995 after being let go by his Canadian Football League team for not being good enough, an experience he calls,"very sobering".
Having being trained personally by his father who admonished he wouldn't go soft on him, he debuted as the first third-generation wrestler in WWF history, and has go on to attain legendary status, achieving monster-success and worldwide fame as he won the WWF heavyweight championship six times in addition to a slew of jaw-dropping honours. All of which boosted his choice to further his career in Movies.

 Journey into Hollywood

In 2001, Dwayne Johnson was cast into his first major role as Mathayus in the blockbuster action film The Mummy Returns. He has also featured in films such as The Scorpion King(2002), where he earned his first leading role; The Rundown(2003), Walking Tall(2004), G.I.Joe: Retaliation(2013) to mention a few. In recent times he has played Luke Hobbs in the Fast and Furious Franchise, and would appear in the first spin-off of the franchise alongside Jason Statham which will be released on July 26, 2019.
