American actor Dylan O'Brien, also called Thomas and Stiles from the iconic roles he starred in The Maze Runner(2014 - 2018) and the TV series Teen Wolf, was born on August 26, 1991 in New York City, to parents who had active careers in the US film industry. His mum was an actress who also ran an acting school while his Dad was a professional operator of a video camera. He is of Irish, Italian, English and Spanish ancestry. Aside acting, Dylan is a drummer and until recently was in a relationship with actress Britt Robertson, whom he met on set of the comedy The First Time in 2011.

Journey into the movies
Dylan originally wanted to be a camera operator like his dad, however destiny had a twist in his tale as he got spotted by an agent who took more than a passive interest on the videos a teenage Dylan would make and post on his YouTube channel. In one of his quotes, he said, "I moved to California when I was twelve and made little movies because I didn't have any friends yet. I would force my sister to make these movies with me - which became my YouTube channel". Such videos would later serve as the launch-pad to his currently burgeoning acting career.

Other major works to his credit include Teen Wolf (2011), American Assassin (2017), Deepwater Horizon (2016) and The Internship (2013) .
